Community Wildfire Protection Plan Update Underway
The Cody Conservation District is launching the next phase of coordination and planning for an updated Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) for Park County. Through a strong partnership with the Wyoming State Forestry Division and Park County Fire Protection Districts, the District secured a Community Wildfire Defense Grant (CWDG) to support this important effort.
The Cody Conservation District will serve as the facilitator and lead agency, spearheading coordination among partners and guiding the planning process to completion.
A CWPP is a locally driven plan that identifies wildfire hazards, prioritizes mitigation projects, and outlines strategies to better protect lives, property, infrastructure, and natural resources. As wildfire seasons continue to grow longer and more complex across Wyoming, proactive planning and partnership are more important than ever.
